We are Winners

Casey’s have brought innovative new concepts to cater for busy changing lifestyles and now Casey’s Londis Castlebar is the ultimate in convenience shopping. The store has been transformed with the new look template, introducing the Kitchen at Casey’s – offering a vast range of hot, cold, breakfast, lunch and dinner menus prepared by the expert inhouse chefs under the new company brand. We offer our customers a comprehensive range, much of which we produce ourselves from scratch on site daily from all our fresh departments. We are constantly listening to our customers to provide what they want and always challenging our teams within the fresh departments to develop new and exciting products and ideas.

We take immense pride in our store, staff, products and service we provide each day to our customers. We fully realise the significant impact of today’s financial concerns and in such a competitive marketplace we aim every day to please and thank our customers who choose to shop with us. Putting our customers and our commitment to fresh foods at the forefront of our business has helped us greatly to expand and develop over the past twenty years.
As the first of our fresh food departments our customers meet upon entering the store our Bakery is central to showcasing our fresh food ethos.

We have built a reputation for good honest food. All our dinners are prepared fresh in store daily by Reg our expert cook, using the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible. We offer a huge choice to our customers from a vast range of traditional hot dinners, healthy and not so healthy breakfasts, to our new enjoy at home range, homemade soup, ready meals, gourmet sandwiches are all available every day. Traditional home cooked meats and freshly prepared salads are available from our cold counter. Due to the expansion and success of our catering menu we have also added a head chef to our team who is busy behind the scenes each day, making and baking unique and wonderful recipes to try out on our willing customers.

Customers can enjoy a wholesome hot meal and we aim to offer a range of twelve dinners each day from hot and hearty stews, to freshly caught local salmon, fresh fish and chips, beef cheeks, honey glazed hams and roast turkey to name but a few. This is an area of which we have immense pride and is the corner stone of the business that we have developed over many years.

I would like to take this time to thank all the committed and talented staff within Casey’s Castlebar and to all our loyal customers who we serve each and every day.

November 2017: Ireland’s top retailers and brands gathered at Dublin’s Royal Marine Hotel on the night of Wednesday 22nd November to attend the prestigious ShelfLife National C-Store 2017 Awards ceremony. Now in its 17th year, the ShelfLife C-Store Awards are the only comprehensive and independently judged business accolades for the convenience store sector. Casey’s Londis/Topaz, Castlebar, Co. Mayo was honoured on the night as it was named as the 2017 national winner of the Best Food to Go Department.

Together with returning master of ceremonies Marty Whelan, ShelfLife welcomed more than 400 guests from across the industry. A total of 29 awards were presented, celebrating the industry’s finest stores and people in a diverse range of categories.

Congratulating the Mayo store, Conor Hayes, Londis Sales Director said: “We would like to extend our congratulations to the team at Casey’s Londis Castlebar, Co. Mayo on winning this prestigious national title. It is their relentless drive and ambition that sets them apart from their peers in a marketplace which is already internationally recognised as setting the standards in convenience retailing. The store and staff are very deserving of this industry accolade and they are great champions for the Londis brand.”

According to ShelfLife Publisher John McDonald, the standards are up across the board this year. “There are a number of very important highlights from this year’s Awards scheme. Standards have improved across the board, and there was a discernible percentage increase in the average score of all stores that entered. “When we visit a store we don’t care what brand is over the door. Everybody gets treated the same. We have the same approach to each store and everybody starts with an equal number of points. We only deduct points where we see a failing at the point in time that our auditors are actually in a shop.

“This year the competition to sit at the top table was fierce. Standards are up across the board and the ultimate winner is the shopper who gets an increasingly strong and sophisticated retail experience at his local convenience store.”
